Imagine being 12 years old and not being able to eat because your body is essentially allergic to eating almost all foods. And then also imagine being a gifted and talented artist that sells your work to help your family pay for your medical bills. That’s Bryleigh❤️

Bryleigh suffers from Eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE), a chronic allergic/immune condition of the esophagus. Every time Bryleigh tries to eat something (literally, almost every food), her body thinks it is foreign and attacks itself, which causes swelling and inflammation that leads to the permanent narrowing of her esophagus. Bryleigh has a permanent feeding tube in place as she undergoes trial after trial looking for ways to overcome this challenge.

Every 12 weeks Bryleigh and her mom head to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital for her medical care. The trip is costly, being that it is over a 500 mile trip (one way) and requires a week-long stay at a hotel next to the hospital. 

The weight of a family’s financial hardship is a weight that no child should ever have to shoulder. Yet Bryleigh, at such a young age and with such a caring heart, helps in every way that she can. UPDATE: 2022 Bryleigh started a new treatment in 2021, and so far so good! She is doing so well, that she may even be able to get her feeding tube out. What wonderful news to celebrate!
