Melinda

Melinda, Advisory Council

Born in Lexington, Virginia and raised in Augusta County, Melinda has always wanted “to come back home” ever since leaving for college.  After a great journey through Berea College in Kentucky and a 31 year career with the YMCA, Melinda’s dream came true when she retired and moved back to the Shenandoah Valley.  She and her husband now enjoy running an antique shop in the historic village of Fairfield, Virginia.  Their goal is to not only offer quality antiques, gifts, and decorating items, but to be a place people can relax and enjoy with friends and family.  More importantly, they want be a part of a small community where people know and help each other.  When Melinda was 11 years old, her own family was generously supported by their community during a life-altering incident.

Throughout her career, Melinda encountered many families similarly challenged by the nightmare of life-changing illnesses.  Being involved with Samuel's Supper™ gives Melinda the opportunity to honor those children and to help other families who need assistance during a devastating experience.
