Oliver was born Dec. 27, 2016 at AMC, and within minutes of his birth he was rushed via LifeFlight to Roanoke Memorial Hospital's Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), due to respiratory development and problems with infection. Oliver spent the next eleven days in the NICU while his mother, Anne Katherine, temporarily resided at the nearby Ronald McDonald House. Baby Oliver has since been discharged from the hospital and is doing well. Oliver's mom, Anne Katherine, is a college graduate, single mother, and is currently employed at a local restaurant. Medical bills related to Oliver's care were overwhelming for this new mother; she was in need of her community's support!
